The 2026 Telkom Netball League Division 2 campaign has nothing short of thrilling, with teams such as Tornadoes ,Baobabs, Sonoblomo, Kingdom Queens and Sunbirds producing high quality netball and fierce competition. Amid the intensity, Kingdom Queens showed remarkable resilience and determination to keep their dreams alive. Their journey was far from straight forward, with a number of drawn matches in the Power Week 3 at Ellis Park Arena, Johannesburg.
Following a challenging Power Week 2, the equation was simple for the Queens - win the last game of their last match or risk in missing out on the knock-out stages. Rising to the occasion when it mattered the most. Queens delivered a composed and determined performance against Lilies. They won by a single point in the nail biting game 36-37,securing a vital victory and booking their place in the semi-finals against Baobabs to be played in Pretoria from 12-15 June.


The achievement is a testament to the hard work, commitment , and belief shown by coaches Precious Mthembu, Lungile Lambethe, the entire staff and the players throughout the campaign. Their ability to remain focused under pressure has earned them an opportunity to compete in the last four and ultimate league honours.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom Stars face different challenge. The Division 1 side will now enter the Promotion/Relegation Play-Offs, where their status will be on the line. The mission is clear win the playoff match and retain their place in the division for another season.
