The KwaZulu-Natal Kingdom Queens produced a stunning second half comeback to defeat the Limpopo Baobabs 55-49 and secured their place in the Telkom Netball League Division 2 Final at Rembrandt Hall in Pretoria on Saturday.
The Queens found themselves under pressure early on as Baobabs capitalized on attacking errors to open six goal lead after the first quarter before extending their advantage to seven goals at halftime. However, the KZN side emerged the break with renewed determination. Inspired by the relentless of defensive pressure from Ntombenhle Shongwe and Lonwabo Khumalo, the Queens slowly clawed their way back into the contest, drawing level 39-39 heading into the last quarter.

With the match finally poised, the Queens delivered when it mattered the most. Crucial turnovers and composed finishing saw them taking control in the closing minutes to complete a memorable comeback victory. Shooter Aphiwe Thusini led charge in the attack and was deservedly named Player of the Match after an outstanding performance ,finishing with an impressive 94% shooting accuracy. Led by Lungile Lembethe, the Queens will now shift their focus to the Division 2 final ,where they will face Tornadoes on Sunday evening evening (18H00).
