The stars aligned when it mattered the most as the KwaZulu-Natal Kingdom Stars produced a spirited performance to overcome the Western Cape Tornadoes 42-38 in the Promotion/ Relegation PlayOffs on Monday afternoon at Rembrandt Hall in Pretoria, securing a Division 1 status in the Telkom Netball League.
With the top-flight future on the line, the Stars rose to the occasion and delivered a display filled with with determination, composure , and resilience. From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, the KZN side showed tremendous character, refusing to back down. The victory ensures that Stars will compete among the country's elite teams in Division 1.


Leading the charge was the outstanding Nomfundo Mngomezulu , who was deservedly named Player of the Match . Mngomezulu was clinical under the poles ,converting crucial opportunities with remarkable accuracy and consistency to keep the Stars ahead when it mattered the most. For the Stars the mission was clear ,survive and fight for another day. Mission accomplished. Division 1 remain home.
