Established 17 years ago on June 16, 2007, this club has weathered the highs and lows, emerging stronger and prouder with each challenge. Today, Ocean Predators are not only a dominant force in the KZN Netball Super League but also a nurturing ground for top players in the National Males teams.

Ocean Predators’ remarkable journey is a testament to their unwavering dedication and love for the sport. “We are mighty proud, as a team, of all the achievements gained thus far. This has proven that we are a team of dedicated, loyal, and netball-loving people,” reflects the club chairperson. Their success story is built on a foundation of hard work, sacrifices, and a deep-seated passion for netball.
Inspiring the Netball Community
The impact of Ocean Predators extends beyond their trophy-laden cabinet. The club plays a pivotal role in inspiring other clubs and players across KZN. “Netball is not a professional sport. You get into it due to love, passion, and fondness for the sport. There is no magic. As club leaders, we have to put our money where our mouths are. It's hard work, lots of sacrifices both emotionally and financially,” says the Chairperson. This commitment to excellence and community spirit serves as a beacon for aspiring netball players and clubs.
Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, the ambitions of Ocean Predators are grand and far-reaching. The Chairperson shares, “My aspirations and goals for the future are to have financial muscle, where I will be able to create jobs for aspiring players, officials, and those who passionately love netball. I want to see Ocean Predators as one of the world-renowned netball clubs, creating international opportunities for our players. Finally, I aim to establish a Netball Academy to introduce netball from a young age and remove the stigma associated with males playing netball.”
LEADING THE CHARGE IN THE SUPER LEAGUE
Currently leading the log in the Males Section of the Super League, Ocean Predators continues to demonstrate their prowess and commitment to excellence. “We intend to win this year's Super League and also the Grand Finale. The games ahead are tough, but I am confident that we shall win by a big margin. We still need to play against Ziphozonke, the Champion of 2023, and uLundi Movers, a very promising and experienced club. It won't be a walk in the park, but we shall do what we are famous for: showing skill, agility, and techniques of netball never seen before,” the Chairperson asserts.

As a club that has set benchmarks in the netball community, Ocean Predators offers valuable advice to other clubs and players. “It has taken a lot of hard work, dedication, passion, and finances to get to where Ocean Predators is. I encourage all players to invest in their love for netball. I also encourage netball club owners to lead from the front, to keep on upgrading themselves on anything and everything netball. This also applies to the players. A player who knows and understands the rules of netball becomes a better player.”
