The first Power Week of Telkom Netball League came with emotions, intensity, growth, and unforgettable moments for Kingdom Stars and Kingdom Queens at the Durban University of Technology Steve Biko Campus from 24 April to 2 May 2026.

Kingdom Stars opened their campaign against defending champions Fireballs in the thrilling battle ,narrowly going down 38-43 after letting the game slip in the final quarter . Meanwhile Kingdom Queens suffered defeat against invited side Malawi Cubs.

Queens quickly bounced back on Day 2 with a a strong 46-42 victory over Sonoblomo while Stars once again fell agonizingly short in a tight 45-40 clash against Stings. Momentum continued for the Queens as they defeated Tshukudu47-35on Day 3,with Thobekile Mjaja producing the standout performance to earn Player of the match honours.

Day 4 brought more celebrations for the Queens, who secured an impressive57-50 win over over Diamonds ,with Nonhlahla Shabangu shinning brightly and claiming Player of the match. Stars however faced a tough challenge against in-form Crinums ,going down 54-34. The unbeaten Tornardoes proved too strong for the Queens on Day 5,handing them 61-39 defeat, while Stars continued to fight hard but lost to another close encounter 41-46 to Flames.

Day 6 saw Queens settle for a frustrating draw against Baobabs 59-59 after leading most of the contest. Stars continued showing heart and determination despite 57-43 loss to Jaguars on Day 7. The Queens returned to winning ways on Day 8 with a commanding 60-48 victory over Sunbirds, as Aphiwe Thusini delivered Player of the Match performance.

Queens ended Power Week 1 on a high note with an important victory 60-48 over Comets and Aphiwe Thusini who has found herself winning the second Player of the Match. While Stars closed their campaign winless as they lost 49-34 to Aloes.

Attention now shift to Power Week 2 set for 22-31 May 2026 at the Ellis Park Arena in Johhanesburg.
