KwaZulu-Natal is glowing with pride after a powerful provincial presence at the SPAR Challenge International Netball Test 2026 held at Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg.
The series delivered unforgettable milestones for KZN as two province's brightest netball stars, Nozipho Ntshangase and Thulisile Maduna stepped into the international stage to earn their Proteas debut caps during the second Test. For Maduna, it was a specially emotional moment as received her very first national cap a dream realised and reward for years of dedication, discipline and hard work.


Although the series ended in a 61-49 result, the occasion itself marked a massive personal and provincial victory representing. Representing South Africa in green and gold is a badge of honour and for these two KZN daughters , this is only the beginning of what promising to be a long and successful national careers. The province celebrate you, Mantombazana, many more caps are surely on the way.


The pride extended beyond the women's court as Sandiso Zulu also made his Proteas Men's debut against Autralian Kelpies. It was a challenging contest,but a monumental achievement for the young talent, whose rise continues to inspire aspiring male netballers across the province. The future of KZN netball remains in strong hands.
Adding to provincial celebrations ,assistant coach Siyabonga Khuzwayo marked his first national coaching assignment, a significant step that reflectss KZN growing influence not only in playing talent but in leadership and technical expertise within the national setup.
Off Courts , KZN spirit was jus as visible. Ndunduzo 'Bahubhe' Myeni, proudly representing as a devoted Super Fan, brought unmatched energy and passion, embodying the heartbeat of the province's netball community.
The occasion was further dignified by the presence of the KZN Netball Federation President, Mrs Gugu Ngema, who was on Johannesburg to witness these historic moments and stand firmly behind the province's representatives on international stage.
To crown it all congratulations to SPAR Proteas for a securing 2-1 victory against England, a display of resilience, class, and fighting spirit that made the nation proud.
